Coffee Brewing Guide

How to brew Woodland Coffee

The right grind brings out the best in every cup. Here's how to get the most from each method.

Espresso machine Use: Espresso Grind Dose: 18g in, 36g out, 25-30 seconds Result: Rich, concentrated, full-bodied—the foundation for lattes, cappuccinos, and flat whites. Our Oak House Blend and Black Thorn are both excellent here.

Cafetière (French press) Use: Cafetière Grind Dose: 15g per 250ml water Steep: 4 minutes, then press slowly Result: Full-bodied, smooth — more oils and richness in the cup. Beech Wood's nutty chocolate character shines in a cafetière.

Filter (V60, Chemex, drip machine) Use: Filter Grind Dose: 15g per 250ml water Time: 3-4 minutes total brew Result: Clean, bright, and nuanced. This method reveals the individual character of the bean's origin. Try Beech Wood for a smooth, sweet filter cup.

AeroPress Use: Cafetière Grind Dose: 15g per 200ml water Steep: 1-2 minutes, then press Result: Versatile and forgiving. Produces anything from a clean filter-style cup to a concentrated espresso-like shot depending on your recipe.

Whole beans. For maximum freshness, buy whole beans and grind just before brewing. Any hand grinder or electric burr grinder will work. Adjust coarseness to match your brew method — fine for espresso, medium for filter, coarse for cafetière.

Not sure which to choose? If you drink lattes or flat whites → Espresso Grind If you use a cafetière at home → Cafetière Grind If you brew black coffee → Filter Grind If you own a grinder → Whole Beans
