How we roast

Our coffee is roasted using precision steam technology. Unlike conventional drum roasting, steam roasting gives total control over heat and airflow — gently opening each bean to preserve natural sweetness and eliminate the bitter, burnt notes that come from aggressive dry-heat methods.

The result: cleaner flavour, smoother finish, no bitterness. Every batch roasts with the same consistency and clarity, whether you're pulling espresso, brewing filter, or pressing a cafetière.

How we source

Every bean is 100% Arabica, ethically sourced from growers across Brazil, Guatemala, Ethiopia, El Salvador, India, and Indonesia. Our beans are selected through blind cupping — judged on flavour alone, with no knowledge of origin or price. Farmers are paid above Fairtrade minimum prices through transparent, traceable supply chains.

How we give back

Less than 12% of Dartmoor's ancient woodlands remain. Every Woodland Coffee purchase supports Moor Trees (Charity No. 1081142), planting native oak, birch, rowan, and hazel across Dartmoor National Park.
